It seems like The Arizona Coyotes quite possibly may never end up trading defenseman Jakob Chychrun.
The Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong has been going on for more then a year of trying to trade Chychrun, but never getting the asking price in return.
Chychrun has made it clear despite liking his time as a Coyote he wasn't interested in sticking around for yet another rebuild. It was back then that he told Arizona Coyotes insider Craig Morgan of GOPHNX.com how he felt about his future in the desert.
«I want to win more than anybody,» he said. «Everybody says that, but I truly believe it, and so, at times, that can be tough. I've been here my whole career. I absolutely love it here, and it seems like every time we get to a point where it looks like we're gonna be getting there, it just gets torn down again. That was kind of tough on me a bit this year, just naturally as a human being and a competitive person.» - Jakob Chychrun
Jakob Chychrun Could Be Traded Before Training Camp but then again that's just speculation from Hockey Insiders. Armstrong knows he's got Chychrun at a steal of a contract for three more seasons, but it seems the Ottawa Senators are the front runners to acquire Chychrun.
The Senators look to one of the most improved teams this off-season acquiring Claude Giroux and Alex DeBrincat adding a Jakob Chychrun to that lineup would make the Senators even better.
