However those dynasty days are long gone with Chicago Blackhawks, general Manager Kyle Davidson is playing Bob the builder as he tries to rebuild the Blackhawks this includes trying to trade both Patrick Kane and Johnathan Toews.
However, whether that be salaries or the asking price Davidson has stated, they have yet to be traded. That might change fairly soon.
According to NHL Trade Rumors their are three teams who are believed to be very interested in acquiring the services of Johnathan Toews.
Those teams are the Winnipeg Jets, Toews's hometown that he would love to finish his career with. The only issue is for Jets General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff to trade, Blake Wheeler, Mark Scheifele, and or Pierre Luc-Dobois who all want a change of scenery.
The Colorado Avalanche want to also add a centerman after losing Nazem Kadri via free agency but the Blackhawks would definitely have to retain salary to make this a done deal.
The third team is the New York Rangers. The Rangers had a great run making it to the Eastern Conference Finals and feel adding Toews leadership could help them take that next step with their young group of players.
Toews is 34 and has one year left on his current contract that pays him a massive $10,500,000 dollars.
After being drafted 3rd overall back in 2006, Toews has played in 1,014 games, scoring 357 goals and 495 assists.
