This will be a day to remember for one special six-year-old boy. Tripp Nugent, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in late September.
His family are Tampa Bay Lightning season ticket holders and Saturday, the organization made Tripp an honorary captain and signed him to a one-day contract. Hockey teams have drawn inspiration from youngsters battling adversity before, namely the Blues with Layla and the Oilers with Ben.
These moments just make you feel good inside. Well done by the entire Lightning organization!
