Andreas Athansious compliments his young teammate
It's clear that the Chicago Blackhawks are in a rebuilding phase, which means that younger players will be given more opportunities for ice time.
One such player is Lukas Reichel, who has only played a total of 34 NHL games over 2 seasons.
Andreas Athanasiou has recognized Reichel's potential to make a significant impact and showcase his skills this season. With plenty of young talent on the horizon, Reichel is poised to be a top-six forward for years to come.
Athanasiou is currently an unrestricted free agent and can choose any organization, but with the Blackhawks future looking brighter than ever and these comments, it seems as if he's leaning towards re-signing.
Athanasiou has praised Reichel's game as "so good," and we can only hope that he continues to develop into the prospect that many have projected him to be.
