Former Enforcer Paul Bissonnette called out the Blackhawks' Connor Bedard for playing "pond hockey", a comment Bedard would brush off--forcing Bissonette's hand and an apology.

Connor Bedard isn't a perfect player by any measure, and he still has a lot of growing to do on both ends of the ice.
Sometimes, players like Bedard have a bad game, and give the commentators, like Mark Messier, and Paul Bissonette the ammo to paint a terrible picture of the Calder Trophy winner.
Bissonnette's recent comments were a prime example of a reactionary mindset in hockey media, as the skilled forward was accused of playing "soft hockey".
«Sometimes I see him continue to try things that aren't going to work at the NHL level like soft plays that are just going to get picked off and go back the other way,» Bissonnette said. «As much good as he does sometimes he doesn't do great things.»

Bedard didn't back down and would brush off the comments made about his game, and made it clear he'd never be "butthurt" about them.
Now, with a metaphorical black eye and another bad take, Bissonnette has decided to switch gears, opting for a more diplomatic approach with Bedard.
The apologetic Bissonette has had some great interactions in the past with Bedard, but his latest comments could sour the relationship.
So instead of pressing more buttons, he's relented--making sure to emphasize his appreciation for Bedard's passion.
This is an interesting shift, considering he just called him "soft".
So which is Paul, is he soft or is he passionate?
Either way, you can tell he speaks out of both sides of his mouth, so either way he can win.
Bissonette has played in only 202 NHL games and scored only 22 points during his NHL career.
Bedard may eat his fist in a fight, but would dog-walk him with the puck.
