BREAKING: Auston Matthews Has Been Removed From The NHL All-Star Game Due to Unfortunate News
As if the Toronto Maple Leafs' injuries from this season weren't enough? Simply said, things have become a LOT worse.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that winger Auston Matthews will miss at least three weeks and maybe as long as four due to a problematic injury that occurred just a few days ago during the Rangers vs. Leafs game.
Injury update:
Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews will be out of the lineup for a minimum of three weeks due to a knee sprain suffered in Wednesday's game vs. NYR.
Unexpectedly, William Nylander has surpassed Auston Matthews as the top player for the Maple Leafs this year, leading the team in both goals and points. With 25 goals and 53 points in 47 games this season, Matthews has however found success.
Aleksander Barkov of the Florida Panthers will take Matthews' place in this year's All-Star Game, therefore John Tavares will initially replace Matthews on the top line for the Maple Leafs.
