It is with saddened news that Jonathan Toews has came forward, and has released a statement today regarding the reason as to why he was been out for nearly two weeks now, it is the same reasoning as to why he missed the entire 2020-21 season.
First of all, thank you to the fans and all those who have shown concern about my absence. I'm still dealing with the symptoms of Long COVID and Chronic Immune Response Syndrome.
It has been really challenging to play through these symptoms. In the last few weeks, it has reached the point where I had no choice but to step back and concentrate on getting healthy. I am thankful for the patience and support of my teammates, the coaching staff, and the entire Blackhawks organization.
-STATEMENT FROM JONATHAN TOEWS
Toews is now deemed ''out indefinitely'', and Blackhawks general manager said he has now stopped skating because his body could not take it.
We really hope Toews can get more healthy regarding his current battle with his Chronic Immune Response Syndrome, but sadly there is no cure for it.
GM Kyle Davidson said the trade deadline is «totally secondary» and he's just hoping Jonathan Toews is able to return again this season.
