Due to a knee injury he suffered in Philadelphia, back in March, Robin Lehner will need surgery and is out for the rest of the season.
He has dealt with multiple injuries this year, allowing him to start only 44 games. The Golden Knights' back-up, Laurent Brossoit, is also on LTIR so the starter gig falls to Logan Thompson (who's been great) with Jiri Patera as the back-up.
Thompson has a .918 in his 13 games for Vegas so far, and Patera has played 21 games for VGK's AHL team the Henderson Silver Knights. There is a back-to-back coming up in Dallas and Chicago, which would provide an opportunity for his NHL debut.
