Morgan Rielly, the Toronto Maple Leafs best defensemen has been placed on injury reserve and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after suffering a apperent knee injury during last nights game after a ugly collision.

That left the Toronto Maple Leafs in a tough spot, with 50/50 contracts filled throughout the Maple Leafs organization, due to Morgan Rielly NOT being placed on long-term injury reserve but on IR, that left the Leafs in a tough spot as they are now in need of a defensemen.

With this news, the Toronto Maple Leafs were forced to waive forward Wayne Simmonds once again. Simmonds is a gritty forward who has who has played in 1,023 NHL games and puts opposing teams on their heals whenever he is on the ice.

The second player placed on waivers today may be one that teams, more so those who struggle in the goaltending department will defiantly take note of. Magnus Hellberg, a 6 foot 6 230lb goaltender who has been tossed around this season, and is someone who is in hopes to find a full-time NHL franchise.

The Nashville Predators placed Zach Sanford on waivers, Sanford was traded to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for a fifth round pick back in March, and holds the same type of abilities as Wayne Simmonds, a gritty, big-bodied forward looking to find a new home.

The Philadelphia Flyers currently have seven forwards injured, and many other teams are struggling with injuries can be expected to make a claim tomorrow for one of these players.
