If you watched the Dallas Stars throughout last season, or even have taken a look at there teams roster/statistics you may find yourself saying.. how the heck did they make the playoffs, AND nearly eliminate the Calgary Flames in the first round!? Well, two words.. Jake Oettinger, a 23 year old goaltender who took the NHL by shock, crushing playoff records set by legends such as Patrick Roy, Martin Brodeur and others.

Surprisingly enough the Dallas Stars and Jake Oettinger have yet to reach a agreement on a new contract, and are far from it..
Puck Empire on Instagram recently reported:
Talks between the #Stars and goaltender Jake Oettinger have "gone nowhere." Oettinger's camp has reportedly remained entirely
flexible on the term he'd be willing to accept, but on the AV side "won't settle for something they deem to be unfair relative to the market that has already been set."
If Oettinger cannot get a contract he is happy with, why wouldn't he choose to sign elsewhere? Teams will also be allowed to offer sheet Oettinger, where he can then accept.
