2016, six years ago, the last time hockey fans were blessed with the World Cup of Hockey where seven countries, and one population with the newest addition of ''Team NA (North America)'' all battled it out in a weeks worth of tournament games to determine which country would fall on top.
And that was team Canada, consisting of Jonathan Toews, Claude Giroux, Steven Stamkos and several other superstars throughout the NHL.
The tourament was quite fun to watch as a hockey fan, and a brand new team was introduced as mentioned above was ''Team NA'' consisting of North American born players such as Nathan MacKinnon, Auston Matthews, Shane Gostisbehere, John Gibson and Connor McDavid, truly a stacked young team.
The hockey community got amazing news this summer that the World Cup of Hockey will be making a return shortly, well, four years away, but fans were still happy that it was in the works.
Until Gary Bettman and the NHL players association determined it will now be in five years, dating to February 2025. Truly disappointing.
