Bedard thought he had been pranked by Wayne Gretzky.
During game two of the Stanley Cup finals tonight, TNT had future superstar Connor Bedard with the panel talking hockey, and the idea of being drafted into the NHL in a few light moments in his younger age.
Connor Bedard mentioned that when he was 14 years old he received a call from what he thought was a prank with someone trying to impersonate Wayne Gretzky.
It turned out Gretzky called him to congratulate him and to explain how the pressure is quite high and felt the need to help him. It would be a pretty incredible thing to happen to any player to receive a call from the great one giving him praise and hoping he will do well in his upcoming future.
There's no doubt that Connor Bedard will have one of the brightest futures in NHL history with the talent level this kid possesses and what he will bring to the table to the NHS and eventually become the new face of the league in the future.
His time will come on June 28th when he'll get to stand on the podium putting on that Blackhawks sweater while listening to his name being announced. It will certainly be a proud moment for him and his family as his dream is about to come true.
