Many have been firing at the Chicago Blackhawks as of late for their logo, and are claiming it's 'disrespectful'' and 'racist''. Well even NHL officials, including reporters for various teams around the league took to Twitter to express that they feel it is a racist logo and it should be removed from their jerseys and franchise.

The hate got so strong, that it got to the attention of the Blackhawks CEO, and he had to make a decision on what was going to happen moving forward if the franchise will be changing the logo or not.

NHL News and Updates released the following information below..

Despite facing some criticism in the past, the Blackhawks are standing strong behind their logo, refusing to change as "there's absolutely no need to." The Blackhawks plan to continue to develop relationships and continuously work with Indigenous
communities, as well as educating the public on their history.

Major Frederic McLaughlin, founder of the franchise, named his team the "Blackhawks" after the US Army unit he served in during World War One, the 86th
Infantry Division, also known as the Black Hawk Division. The unit was named after Black Hawk, the Sauk leader of the eponymous Black Hawk War of 1832.

Great move by the Blackhawks!
