The Blackhawks seemingly screwed themselves over with two key wins over Calgary and Pittsburgh in the final two weeks that dropped the team to the 3rd worst record in the NHL instead of the worst, which would have given the Hawks the best odds for Bedard. While there is still a chance that the ping pong balls will fall the Blackhawks way, we need to prepare for someone other than Bedard.
Fantilli also scored two goals and tallied 3 assists through 7 games for Canada at this year's World Junior tournament. He is known for his puck handling, shot accuracy, speed, passing ability, and leadership. While his numbers aren't as flashy as Bedard's, Fantilli would be a great addition for Chicago. The young center has a great future in the NHL and will give the Blackhawks another fantastic piece for Chicago to build their future around.
