Blackhawks Iconic Duo's Playoff Hopes About to be Crushed After Horrendous Performance
It was supposed to be the ultimate dream team for the New York Rangers, the arrival of the iconic duo of former Chicago Blackhawks forwards, Patrick Kane and Artemi Panarin. However, their Stanley Cup dream for this season may have come to a screeching halt after a demoralizing 4-0 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night.
Kane was benched after earning four penalty minutes and seeing only 14 minutes of ice time, while Panarin suffered a massive demotion from the top line to the third line after finishing the game with a minus-three plus-minus rating. The Rangers now find themselves down 2-3 in the series against the Devils, and they must win their next game to stay alive in the playoffs.
The Rangers were hoping that Kane and Panarin could provide the much-needed spark for a deep playoff run, but they have faltered at the most crucial time. It's now up to the entire team to step up and save their season, but it won't be an easy task against a tough Devils team.
