Opening night is finally here! The Blackhawks open the season tonight in Colorado. Here are some injury updates that will affect the opening night lineup.
Connor Murphy was hit in the face with a puck at practice yesterday. Murphy is reportedly feeling okay after the incident and required a few stitches. Murphy is expected to play tonight.
Caleb Jones practiced but isn't ready to return quite yet. Jones will miss opening night in Colorado. Jones is progressing well and should be making his season debut sooner rather than later.
Alex Vlasic will be out tonight as well. He blocked a shot and immediately felt discomfort. He skated recently, but still isn't feeling 100%. The injury isn't suspected to be serious, so Vlasic should make his season debut relatively soon.
