It's no secret that rookie goalie Jaxson Stauber has been a shining beacon of hope towards the future of the Blackhawks Organization ever since his first NHL game. His first NHL game was also his first NHL win. As was his second. And his third. In his last 5 games, he is 4-1-0. And last night, he almost added another Milestone Moment to his rapidly growing record by earning his first NHL point with a secondary assist on Max Domi's EN goal.

Unfortunately, after further review, the puck apparently hit some traffic before reaching Kane, negating Stauber's direct assistance.

Even so, his 32 saves earned him the appreciation and admiration he most definitely deserves.

Also, keep in mind that he's Chicago's 3rd string goalie. We know how great Stalock can be. And Mrazek still has his moments. But knowing this 23 year old is someone the team can rely on lifts a huge weight of worry off their collective shoulders.
And although last night's assist wasn't counted, we all saw what he did, and there's no doubt he'll do it, again.

Stauber commented on it, and of course the night doesn't end with some controversy as the reasoning for Stauber not being credited with the assist was questionable:
