Could Connor Bedard's Friend Join Him in Chicago?
The Chicago Blackhawks have an impressive draft coming up, with a total of 11 picks this year.
It was a wise move for Kyle Davidson to stock up on draft picks, as the team is currently in rebuild mode and will require the best draft capital and picks available to contend in the future.
«The Blackhawks can add one of Bedard's best friends by selecting Cristall (5-9, 167), who mixes high-end skill with an edge,» said writer Adam Kimelman. «His speed and elusiveness allow him to find open spots in the offensive zone and his creativity and tenacity allow him to finish in-tight. Cristall can dominate in open ice, and one scout said Cristall is basically a cheat code on the power play.»
Reports suggest that the team may pick Connor Bedard as the 1st overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
However, there is also speculation that they may reunite Bedard with his friend Andrew Cristall by selecting him at 19th, according to an NHL Mock Draft.
While the NHL mock draft released on June 11th has identified four consensus picks of Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson, and Smith, the Blackhawks have a chance to pick Cristall who is no slouch on offense himself.
With his versatile play style, he would be a valuable addition to the team and a great steal at 19th.
