Last season Johnny Gaudreau, who is better known as "Johnny Hockey" had his best season of his career racking up a 115 point season before a disappointing end to the year, losing to their rivals in the battle of Alberta.
This had fans wondering, with Gaudreau being a pending UFA at the time, was that the end of the Gaudreau era in Calgary? However Flames fans held hope that Gaudreau would re-sign with the Flames, instead the 29 year-old would decide to sign a 7 year $68.25 million dollar contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
When Gaudreau came to Columbus it was in his words, "to win hockey games." However the Columbus Blue Jackets are currently 8-15-2 and are the lowest ranked team in the Eastern Conference.
Despite the team's disastrous start this can't be blamed on Gaudreau who's leading the team with 9 goals, 19 assists and is 9 points ahead of the next closest player Boone Jenner who has 19 points this season.
With that said despite the big pay day you have to wonder does Gaudreau regret his decision? You would have to believe so because no player likes losing, especially Gaudreau who's dream is to still win a Stanley Cup. However it doesn't look like that will come to fruition especially this season.
