Former Blackhawk and NHL All-Star Captain to Join Blackhawks Broadcast
This year's broadcast for NBC Sports Chicago will be a bit grittier than normal, as the former NHL enforcer and All-Star Captain John Scott will be offering some of his skills to us, as a former player, and we can all learn a lot from him.
As part of the NBC Sports Chicago broadcast, he will contribute post-game analysis as well as pre-game analysis in the studio.
Scott announced the news on a recent episode of his "Dropping the Gloves" podcast.
"I'll be in Chicago more this year," Scott said. "I didn't ask them if I should say this, but I think I should. The ink just dried. I'm working for NBC this year in Chicago. I'm gonna be doing pre and postgame."
He made the announcement on his own podcast called "Dropping the Gloves" which is a podcast that features a number of NHL players from time to time.
From 2010 to 2012, John Scott played 69 games for the Chicago Blackhawks during his NHL career, where he scored 2 goals and accumulated 120 penalty minutes as a result of his efforts on the ice.
While Scott was not a skilled player, he used his size and fighting ability to his advantage, allowing him to excel in the enforcer role he enjoyed in the NHL.
