The Toronto Maple Leafs will fight to the ends of the earth to make sure they are not out of this series just yet.

Adding sandpaper players like Ryan O'Reilly, Like Schenn, and Sam Lafferty made sure that this year would be different. However, these additions should come with a warning.

It's great to have people who aren't afraid to get dirty and get in those creases where your skilled guys won't.

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Sam Lafferty has been fined for cross-checking, the NHL's Department of Player Safety announced on Sunday. The fine was US$3,108.11, which is the maximum allowable under the league's collective bargaining agreement.

However former Chicago Blackhawks center, Sam Lafferty got into it with Ross Colton last night.

It's the playoffs and emotions are high, but the cross-check after the fact is a dirty move.

Lafferty doesn't have a history of major penalties of this nature so, it looks like he gets a CBA-sized fine, except you know the wording: "maximum allowable under the CBA".

If that isn't the DOPS favorite sentence I don't know what is.
