Despite being cast as someone who would not end up playing in an NHL All-Star Game, John Scott has had an illustrious career due to the fact that he defied the odds and was selected as a captain for the 2016 NHL All-Star Game in spite of being a highly unlikely candidate.

In his early days, Scott was considered to be your usual, rock-em, sock-em enforcer, yet that position in the NHL is at risk for extinction as a result of how vastly the game has evolved over the past couple of decades.

Scott has signed with NBC Sports Chicago for this season

Several enforcers now find their way into hockey through their involvement with sports media, broadcasting, and coaching for NHL teams as well as player development.

There is a podcast hosted by John Scott called "Dropping The Gloves" where NHL players and other prominent individuals participate.

However, he seems to be moving up in the world, as he will do Blackhawks pre and post-game coverage on NBC Sports Chicago.

There's no official word on how many games Scott will make an appearance in this season, however.
