Gary Bettman Makes A Massive Announcement Today
It was announced today by Gary Bettman that the Ottawa Senators franchise will be officially transferred to a new owner as of today.
It is expected that the franchise, which was once owned by the Melnyk's, will be handed over to Michael Andlauer, who is well known for being a Montreal-based entrepreneur. In the past, Andlauer held a 10% stake in the Montreal Canadiens franchise prior to the sale of the team.
The NHLs Board of Governors has unanimously approved the sale of the Ottawa Senators to Michael Andlauer
He was also involved in the hiring of Kent Hughes, the current general manager of the Canadiens franchise, among other decisions with the franchise.
Due to the official completion of the acquisition, Andlauer will have to divest his shares in the Canadiens team and will now concentrate on making the Senators into a winning team.
Andlauer, of course, had no problem in finding a buyer for his 10% stake in the franchise of the Montreal Canadiens.
Following the quick transfer of the franchise, the team has scheduled a press conference in order to address any questions that may have been left by this exciting turn of events.
