After the conclusion of the first day of training camp for the Blackhawks, Jonathan Toews spoke to the media about this past offseason and gave his reaction to the Kirby Dach and Alex DeBrincat trades. Toews stated that he was «Shocked», «Angry», and «Disappointed» when he found out that Alex DeBrincat and Kirby Dach were being traded out of the organization.
While that's not an ideal reaction from your captain, Toews also stated that he talked to Kyle Davidson and MacIver and now understands their plan for the team moving forward. Given how Toews spoke against a rebuild not too long ago, it sounds like Toews is now on board moving forward after sitting down with Davidson and MacIver. It will be interesting to see how this team will look on the ice, but having a guy like Toews around will surely benefit everyone.
