Lightning Defenseman May Not be Willing to Take a Pay Cut With Tampa
Mikhail Sergachev had quite the impressive showing throughout this years NHL playoffs, the 24 year old found a sweet spot on the power play- leading to him producing 2 large goals when needed for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Sergachev was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning in a steal of a deal after the 2016-17 NHL season, the Lightning traded Jonathan Drouin to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for the young Russian defenseman Sergachev.
Sergachev will be a restricted free agent in 2023 and without a team but it seems as if he'll spend his seventh NHL season in Tampa, but he may not be willing to take a pay cut..
Why is that so? Well before contract negotiations have started for Sergachev this next season, he has hired a new agent by the name of Dan Millstein, who is known for getting the most money as possible out of the players worth which is not in favor of the Lightning and their current salary cap issues.
After winning back-to-back cups with the Lightning, is he willing to play elsewhere to get the most money?
