Major blow to a Blackhawks development
In March 2023, Cole Guttman underwent right shoulder surgery due to an injury, which had previously been preceded by a back injury.
Guttman, a young forward, was a sensation after being drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2017 and debuting in the NHL with the Chicago team.
Before his injury, he played 39 games in Rockford and scored 30 points, while in the NHL, he played 14 games, scoring 4 goals and 2 assists.
Unfortunately, his injury resulted in the end of his season and ineligibility for the Calder Cup Playoffs.
However, Guttman's surgery was successful, and he is expected to be back in time for training camp.
Whether he will end up playing in the AHL or NHL will be determined by how well he performs during camp, according to the team.
