Marc-Andre Fleury's fate with the Minnesota Wild officially revealed
The Minnesota Wild face a major setback as netminder Filip Gustavsson is placed on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury. The Athletic's Michael Russo reveals that Gustavsson will undergo another MRI and is expected to miss "at least a couple of weeks."
This comes as a blow to the Wild, who have been performing well under coach John Hynes, boasting a 7-3 record in their last 10 games. The loss of their top goaltender, coupled with the absence of superstar winger Kirill Kaprizov for one to two weeks, poses challenges for the Wild's playoff aspirations in the competitive Western Conference.
Fleury's fate in Minnesota made very clear now
In the midst of these developments, earlier reports of Marc-Andre Fleury's potential trade due to sharing the crease in Minnesota and this potentially being his last NHL season are put to rest.
Fleury's fate is now confirmed in Minnesota, where he will step into the role of the starting goaltender for the foreseeable future.
