Connor Bedard blows rookie sensation Macklin Celebrini out of the water
There has been speculation that Macklin Celebrini will be the next 1st overall pick in the NHL draft in 2024. As both a junior and college player, he was described as a complete player and a two-way player.
However, his performance at the World Juniors showed how much potential he has.
As for now, despite blowing scouts and hockey pundits' minds during his pre-draft season in 2023-2024, there is one person he still cannot get past.
Impressive, but not Bedard impressive
The World Junior leader in PPG is Connor Bedard, who averages 3.29 PPG in Team Canada's performances.
Celebrini's 1.74 points per game are great and indicative of what could be his future potential, but he cannot surpass Bedard's records.
Despite Celebrini's unquestionable value to any NHL team, Bedard's talent makes him a generational player.
