Questionable hits have no part in the game and every once in a while the recipient of one ends up with significant injury.
That is exactly the case with Edmonton Oilers 2019 seventh round draft selection Maxim Denezhkin's opponent Yevgeni Bodrov.
The pair ended up in a board battle and Denezhkin appears to have checked Bodrov from behind into the boards. The questionable play resulted in a reported broken leg.

Denezhkin was initially assessed a three-game suspension, but it was later determined that 10 games was more suitable, given the severity of the hit.
