Next Hawks Defenseman To Be Scratch Likely Determined
It hasn't been pretty over the last two weeks for the Blackhawks in all aspects of the game, but the defense has been dreadful. Costly turnovers and simple mistakes have led to disastrous consequences for the Hawks.
Nobody has looked great on the blue line, but Caleb Jones has had it rough recently. Jones has looked uncomfortable on the ice, which has led to brutal turnovers and bad positioning in his own end of the ice.
Jones most recently was on the ice for all 5 goals against the Hawks in a 5-2 loss to the Blues. Luke Richardson had some words for the media about Jones's performance against the Blues after the loss. Richardson pointed out that while everyone could've been better out there, Jones needed to make some more plays in the defensive zone to shut down the attack.
While all of the bad defensive play can't be blamed on Jones, a change needs to be made. Jones could benefit from some time in the press box and a defensive prospect from Rockford can benefit from some NHL experience. At this point it doesn't seem so much as "if Jones gets scratched". It has turned more to a "when Jones gets scratched".
