Oilers Good Luck Charm Ben Stelter Has Sadly Lost His Battle Against Brain Cancer..
If you ask any Edmonton Oilers player what changed their swagger last season, there's simply one answer. BEN STELTER! The five year old diehard Oilers fan was diagnosed with a brain tumor more than a year ago, and has been through four rounds of chemotherapy and 30 sessions of radiation to remove the brain tumor. Sadly the tumor returned.
Ben spent his last remaining months supporting the Edmonton Oilers throughout there playoff run and during the end of the regular season, when Ben met the team- they suddenly went on a 9 game win streak, he was deemed there good luck charm.
Today, August 10th Ben lost his battle against brain cancer at six years of age. Bens father took to Twitter to release a statement.
Our condolences go out to the Stelter family and friends. Everybody hug your loved ones tighter on this saddened day. We love you Ben.
