Marian Hossa was truly exactly what the Blackhawks needed at the right time. His career accomplishments speak for themselves. Three Stanley Cups, over 1,300 games played, 525 goals scored, 609 assists, 1,134 points, a jaw dropping +/- +245, and a Hall of Fame ring.
One line that sticks out to me is "one of the best free agent signings in Chicago sports history'". Kane is not wrong here. The hungry veteran presence and stability that Hossa brought to the Blackhawks was extremely valuable to the young group of players who hadn't been in the spot before. It is a shame that Hossa's career ended the way it did, but the legend of Hossa will be cemented in Chicago sports history forever.
