The Chicago Blackhawks are currently sitting at a unfortunate spot, and are currently proven to be the worst Chicago based franchise at the moment. This all came in a hurry as just at the end of last season the Blackhawks started to pick up the pace, but not in time for the playoffs, fans were expecting a few key acquisitions to be made this off-season which will help the roster, but Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson had different plans.

Kyle Davidson announced a full rebuild was taking place just after trading away 23-year old Brandon Hagel who's contract was set to expire and Davidson did not want anything to do with it. The Blackhawks received aging prospect Taylor Raddysh, Boris Katchouk and two-additional first round picks, Blackhawks fans had mixed feelings as they loved Hagel but the return Kyle Davidson received was just outstanding, unlike the return for a even better and more skilled Blackhawks star..

The Blackhawks traded star two-time 40 goal scorer for the seventh overall pick, the thirty-ninth overall pick and also a third round pick. It also seems as if the Blackhawks waited way too long to trade DeBrincat and his trade value decreased day by day, and the Hawks got a worse return than they did for Brandon Hagel, who was no where near the elite level of Alex DeBrincat. Kirby Dach was also traded, the 21 year old was sent to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for the 13th overall pick.

As of late news has broke, David Pagnotta from NHL Network and The Fourth Period news released that the Blackhawks are actively looking and hearing offers on star forward Patrick Kane, the Dallas Stars have inquired as well.

So, what are some teams with available cap space that have a spot for Kane? Fans of @FastBlackhawksNews submitted mock trades, but are they realistic? Should the Blackhawks accept a offer similar? Let's take a look.

Mock Trade #1:

Blackhawks Receive:
-William Nylander
-2023 First Round Pick
-2024 First Round Pick
-2024 Third Round Pick

Toronto Receives:
Patrick Kane

This trade does not make much sense at all for the Chicago Blackhawks as they traded away Alex DeBrincat who is younger than Nylander, Nylander also has a much larger cap hit and will be a free agent in two years to come where a large salary upgrade will be needed for 80-point Nylander.

Mock Trade #2

Blackhawks Receive:
-Dawson Mercer
-Yegor Sharongovich
-2023 First Round Pick

Devils Receives:
-Patrick Kane

This trade is the best mock trade so far for Patrick Kane, going to Chicago would be 20 year old Dawson Mercer who had a breakout season tallying up 42 points as a 19 year old, if you are not a Devils fan you are probably not aware of who this next player going to Chicago is, Yegor Sharangovich, he is a 6 foot-2 200lb centre who had a better first season than Dawson Mercer despite playing less games, tallying up 46 points in his first 76-game season.

With Jonathan Toews stating he is not on board for a 5-year rebuild, players like Dawson Mercer and Sharangovich will be a much better fit for the rebuilding Hawks and are only going to get better. Mercer also plays on the wing which could be a ideal swap out for Patrick Kane.
