Surprising List of Odds Revealed on Where Auston Mathew's Will Sign Next..
The Toronto Maple Leafs star Auston Matthews is currently under contract for just two more seasons until he will officially be a free agent, and will be available for any team to throw a contract offer at the 60 goal scorer. After July 1st 2024, Maple Leafs fans should be preparing for a heartbreak as it is seeming Matthews will be taking the same approach as Johnny Gaudreau has and will be testing the free agent market, Gaudreau ended up taking a deal closer to home.
The betting odds have been revealed for Matthews next destination, and the hometown Arizona Coyotes are right behind the Toronto Maple Leafs. Matthews spends a lot of of the off-season in Arizona and even has a home there, he also supports the local and university hockey teams. So this list on the next page makes sense, but some teams are definitely a surprise..
Toronto Maple Leafs -1000
Arizona Coyotes +550
Florida Panthers +1500
Tampa Bay Lightning +1500
Seattle Kraken +1800
Some may be thinking, why Arizona? Well in 5 years time, it is almost certain the Coyotes will be better than the Toronto Maple Leafs as the Coyotes have a ton of top-promising prospects and are taking part in a full-rebuild. When Matthews hits the open market after his 5 years under contract expire in 2024, why would he want to stay a Toronto Maple Leaf if no proven success is done, and more first round playoff exits happen.
