It was another disappointing season for the Toronto Maple Leafs. After another promising regular season the Leafs would continue the trend bowing out in the first round of the playoffs.
The Leafs haven't gotten past the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs since 2004, however this professional Tennis Star and hardcore Maple Leafs fans thinks the leafs could of already been Stanley Cup champions if they had a certain player.
Denis Shapovalov is dominating the sports news at the National Bank Open. The Canadian tennis Denis Shapovalov who's admitted being a "Hardcore Leafs fan" made interesting comment about Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price.
In an interview with TVA Sports, Shapovalov was asked the first thing that comes to his mind when he is asked about Montreal:
"The Canadiens. I'm a hockey fan, a Maple Leafs fan, so we're rivals!" - Denis Shapovalov
Shapovalov then delivered an interesting answer when asked about his favorite player.
A surprising answer coming from a Leafs fan:
"Carey Price. I really wish Carey would play for the Leafs. I truly believe we would have won a Stanley Cup with him already."
- Denis Shapovalov
It's crazy when you ask most Montreal Canadiens fans what they would say if they had the players the Leafs had in Montreal, they would of won another Stanley cup also, however I don't think we will probably ever see Auston Matthews in a Canadiens jersey unfortunately.
