The Jonathan Toews saga seems to be nearing a conclusion in the near future. While Toews ultimately controls his own destiny, at least three teams have expressed their interest in acquiring the future Hall of Famer.
The Carolina Hurricanes are emerging as the favorite to acquire Toews if he decides to end his time in Chicago. The Hurricanes just lost Max Pacioretty for the season and need help up the middle. Toews would be an ideal fit for the Hurricanes system and would provide the veteran leadership playoff experience needed as Carolina pushes towards the playoffs.
Toews has rejuvenated his career this season, as he is putting up incredible numbers in the faceoff circle and is proving that he can still put pucks in the back of he net. Toews has 27 points in 42 games this season, but has been playing much better hockey than the numbers show. Toews will be a big addition to any contender who is lucky enough to snag him.
