It's been a very crazy and unpredictable 2022 NHL Entry Draft. It started with the Montreal Canadiens stunning the world taking Slovakia born Juraj Slafkovsky with the first overall pick.
Many believed that Kingston Frontenacs captain Shane Wright who was ranked #1 all season would be the choice by Canadiens General Manager Kent Hughes. Unfortunately for Wright those projections didn't pan out as projected, So many expected Wright to go 2nd overall surly. Except New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald would also take a Slovakia born player in Simon Nemec.
That didn't come to fruition either for Wright And things got more shocking when Arizona Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong would select Logan Cooley 3rd overall.
Wright would finally make his way to to the podium when he was selected by the Seattle Kraken's General Manager Ron Francis. After coming up to the podium, Wright shook hands with the Gary Bettman. But the cameras would catch Shane Wright who appeared to be giving the Montreal Canadiens table an angry stare.
Mark December 6th on your calendar. The Canadiens play the Kraken expect to see Shane Wright try to make the Canadiens regret not taking Wright when they had the opportunity.
