The Blackhawks Are NOT Expected to Re Sign Two Key Pieces..
As the Blackhawks and Kyle Davidson planned to start their rebuild during this trade deadline, we expected a few other pieces to be moved to kick it off.
One being Dominik Kubalik, the 26 year old winger is having one of his worst NHL seasons yet, having 22 points with 11 goals and 11 assist on the year being a -19 on the year. As his contract expires after this season, he was on the trade block at this years NHL trade deadline but no teams were interested. Scott Powers says the Blackhawks are not likely to bother resigning the young forward.
Dylan Strome (25) on the other hand, has performed very well paired with the Blackhawks top two wingers Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat. Strome has already matched his season high goal total at 17, with a handful of games still remaining in the season. Unfortunately his contract will be at an end this season, and Scott Powers has reported the Blackhawks are expected to let him walk and not resign.
Some may be in disbelief hearing this about Strome, but just remember the Blackhawks have moved Hagel, Panarin and more in the past that nobody believed.
