The Hawks have a lot of contracts coming to an end, but this is one they should focus on.
Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane's contract is going to be up after this season, but they're both as good as gone; don't have to worry about that. But one player they should have their eye on is this rising star.
Philipp Kurashev is a rising forward in the NHL at the age of only 23 years old. He would fit the rebuild narrative perfectly. Kurashev has 11 points in 21 games, but those 11 points is already 1/4 of his points in his whole career.
The team clearly likes him. Luke Richardson has Philipp on the first power play line, and has him playing alongside Toews on the 2nd line, Richardson clearly likes him as well. You tell him to do something, he'll do it, always up for the challenge and to learn more.
With ''Chevy'' as they like to call him being a restricted free agent (RFA), I don't see a scenario where he leaves the team after this season.
