The Chicago Blackhawks, dealing with a slew of injuries, are set to receive a much-needed boost as they face the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday. Colin Blackwell and MacKenzie Entwistle are making their comeback to the lineup.
Colin Blackwell, out since February 27, 2023, is ready for his first game of the 2023-24 season. The veteran forward had surgery for a sports hernia, cutting short his first season with the Blackhawks.
Despite the initial plan for a return during training camp, he began the season on the injured list. Now, fully recovered, the 30-year-old is set to rejoin the Blackhawks' lineup. With 10 points in 53 games last season, Blackwell will contribute from the third line against the Avalanche.
MacKenzie Entwistle, a regular in the Blackhawks' bottom-six rotation, missed the last two games due to illness.
The sizable winger has accumulated five points (two goals, three assists) in 21 games this season. Against the Colorado Avalanche, Entwistle is expected to center the fourth line, adding depth and versatility to the lineup.
