The Blackhawks fanbase shows their love for their beloved captain
To say the Blackhawks fanbase loves Jonathan Toews is probably one of the understatements of the year. Toews produced some of the best hockey in a generation with the Blackhawks organization. He has been one of the most consistent players and helped win 3 Stanley Cups in 10 years.
When the Blackhawks announced that general manager Kyle Davidson would not re-sign Toews, they had him skate around the rink waving to the fans as they showed their love and appreciation for him and gave him a standing ovation for several minutes during Toews' final game.
His raw emotion was quite evident and he said he was not worthy of this, which I disagree with. There is no doubt he is worthy of this, any team in the NHL would be happy to have his services next season. Once he retires , as soon as it's possible he should be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame
It remains to be seen if he would play for any other team or if he will retire as a Blackhawk. Only time will tell on what decision he does this offseason.
