The One That Got Away: Dylan Strome, and his hot start in Washington
This Offseason, the Blackhawks didn't resign Dylan Strome.
Strome is a 25-year-old winger, who signed with the Washington Capitals this Offseason. What I find hard to believe, is that they couldn't find anything for Strome while trying to trade him at the Trade Deadline. At least get something for him if you're going to let him go. It's a real shame too, as he was just starting to get his feet under him and hit the ground running.
Dylan had 22 goals, 26 assists, totaling up to 48 points in 69 games for the Chicago Blackhawks. This season, with Washington, he has 5 goals and 10 assists adding up to 15 points in only 19 games.
This wasn't the only mistake Chicago made, as they let go of Kirby Dach, Dominik Kubalik, and more, who are all having great seasons so far. We all get Kyle Davidson, and the Hawks want Connor Bedard, but what's the point of a 5-year rebuild if you're just going to let all of your young promising players go?
