The Toronto Media Attacks Another Player
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens took place in both their season opening games last night on Canadian soil, in Montreal. Many teams having new additions, the Canadiens having nearly a entire different lineup, but the Maple Leafs were almost the same as last year.. the only difference was the addition of goaltender Matt Murray starting in goal.
Most would say Murray had a amazing performance, but the team in front of him really let him down, countless 2 on 1's for the Canadiens lead to goals, Toronto just did not defend properly.
But like all things in Toronto, the media and fans had to put one person to blame, this game it was goaltender Matt Murray. Murray has had a rough 3/4 years since leaving the Pittsburgh Penguins and was in hopes to redeem himself in a fresh Leafs jersey, while he carried a lot of weight on his shoulders from the Toronto media.
The game was tied, eighteen seconds on the clock, and the Canadiens scored to take the win.
Fans weren't having any of it, despite it was a poor performance for the entire team, and not just Matt Murray.
