This is a rebuild, folks. Not the Bowman era reload. It's time to build new talents. Three names come to my mind; Kirby Dach, Ian Mitchell, and Lukas Reichel.
Kirby Dach, to begin with was at one point expected to be the de facto heir to Toews' role. However, he had an injury in his sophomore year and since has been playing more conservatively. Gone is the reckless heavy hitting power forward. Getting into that rhythm again will be a goal moving forward.
Moving onto Ian Mitchell, the former ACHA All American has had troubles adjusting to the NHL. He's in and out of Rockford and has been a career negative +- rating, Though expected to be a very capable NHL defensemen.
Lastly, Lukas Reichel is expected to be a difference maker to this team. Though his play has not declined like the others, the expectation for him to develop into an offensive force is very high, and will be interesting to see if he lives up to it.
