It's still early in the season, but the Red Wings are currently sitting pretty in playoff spot number two for the Atlantic Division. They are 6th in the league with 16 points over 12 games played. Fun fact - Dominik Kubalik has almost just as many points as his entire team.

Fifteen points in 12 games from nine assists and six goals, including this OT beauty from the win over the Rangers.

Apparently he's good against New York, because he helped blank the Islanders with this fun little move:

Looking at his overall records, his best year with Chicago was his first year; the 2019-2020 season. Thirty goals in 68 games.

And he's very much on par for an even better record this season with the Wings. Is it new team luck? Granted, he was dealing with pandemic hockey for most of his time with the Hawks, and his last season wasn't horrible. It was great, but he did manage 32 points in 78 games, which probably helped in the trade.

At any rate, he's flying high in Detroit, and helping the progress of their rebuild speed up, considerably. And, at only 27 years old, the Winger from Czechia has plenty of time to take this team back to the playoffs.
