"Things are heating up when it comes to the Montreal Canadiens and possible roster changes. General manager Marc Bergevin didn't wait at all to go out and land his backup goalie acquiring Jake Allen from the St. Louis Blues yesterday. It was a big swing by Bergey and should pay off way better than the $900k bandaid goalies over the last couple of years. Now it's time to switch things up in other spots and it sounds like the first guy on his way out is Max Domi. NHL insider Pierre McGuire reports that the Chicago Blackhawks are one of the suitors for Domi and the two teams have been in talks. Domi is currently a restricted free agent with arbitration rights and just fired his agent with all signs pointing to him wanting out of Montreal. McGuire suggests that Brandon Saad would likely go the other way giving the Canadiens another goal scoring winger with only one year left on his contract. Saad, like Tatar, is very consistent putting up 20 goals almost every year and would add some more goal scoring on the wing. On the Blackhawks' side of things, Domi would give the Blackhawks a third line center for a couple of years and would allow the team to move Dylan Strome who they've been trying to move for months. Montreal and Chicago have been significant trade partners over the last couple of years.
