With the arrival of Connor Bedard in Chicago, it's likely that he will need some assistance in adapting to the NHL and developing his skills.
One option for the Blackhawks is to sign Connor Brown, who missed a significant amount of playing time due to injury.
Because of this, he may be willing to sign a prove-it contract for a reasonable price. Brown would be an affordable middle-6 option, having scored 39 points in 64 games with the Ottawa Senators during the 2021-2022 season.

Another option for the team is Sean Monahan, who could be a valuable mentor to Bedard. Monahan put up 17 points in 25 games with the Montreal Canadiens before being sidelined by a lower-body injury.
Like Brown, he may be willing to sign a prove-it contract due to his recent injury.
Lastly, Max Domi could bring some much-needed grit and protection to the team. He would be a great long-term addition as a top-six winger for Bedard to work with.
Domi also has experience playing in Luke Richardson's system, making him a good fit for the Blackhawks.
