"Many analysts across the NHL will say the Chicago Blackhawks easily have some of the worst contracts in hockey. One of the contracts that sits high on the list is defenseman Brent Seabrook's. The 33 year old Seabrook signed an eight year contract back in 2015 that carries a $6.875million a season cap hit and also carries a full no movement clause through 2021-22. What makes it worse is when that full no movement clause finally lifts after 2021-22, it'll be modified with Seabrook able to submit a five team trade list for 2022-23 and a 10 team trade list for 2023-24.Worst contract in hockey? It's at least one of them, however Hawks forward Patrick Kane doesn't think it's that bad, even adding that Seabrook is underpaid. "People want to get on Seabs about his contract. To us, he's underpaid, what he brings to this locker room, the way he's such a great leader. ... He's an unbelievable teammate. Even that game he missed, it's like you lose your heart and soul."
While Hawks fans might want to see Seabrook and his contract gone, it doesn't sound like the Hawks locker room does.
