The Chicago Blackhawks battled to a big 4-1 win last night against the Jets in Winnipeg. After opening the score in the first period, Chicago put up three goals in the third period to shut the door. Before the game the big story was that Brent Seabrook was left behind in Chicago and didn't make the trip to Winnipeg. Seabrook of course was made a healthy scratch against Colorado on Wednesday, something that Duncan Keith wasn't happy about. Then on Thursday, the Blackhawks announced Seabrook's absence from the road trip as "undergoing further medical evaluation."Weird considering Seabrook had taken morning skate on Wednesday and it was made clear that he was a healthy scratch and not missing the game because of injury. This of course has led to much speculation and that the Blackhawks are trying to force Seabrook to either waive his full no movement clause (he can't even be sent to the AHL without his permission) or force him into some sort of long term injured reserve situation (hello Marian Hossa's doctor). Multiple reports indicate that things are tense right now in Chicago.
