The Chicago Blackhawks made some noise this weekend when they pulled off a deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Chicago acquired Olli Maatta from the Pittsburgh Penguins for Dominik Kahun and the Hawks' 2019 fifth round pick. However it doesn't seem that Bowman is done revamping his blueline. We've already heard that the Blackhawks have discussed a possible trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets regarding Ryan Murray and they might have found a new target. According to Scott Powers of The Athletic, the Blackhawks have held discussions with the Carolina Hurricanes regarding Justin Faulk, Calvin de Haan and Dougie Hamilton. «I think they're talking about adding a top-4,» a source said. «But in fairness, they have probably talked about everyone in the top 7.» Powers adds that nothing close to a deal has been reached yet as according to his sources, Bowman has only offered up secondary forwards. Faulk and Hamilton would definitely help the Hawks' struggles when it comes to creating offense from the blueline.
